COVID-19 Advice

COVID-19 infection protection and control in educational settings

Tower Hamlets Council has been working closely with Public Health colleagues to make sure schools have access to the most up to date data and guidance.

You can view an extract of the latest version of the public health COVID-19 briefing for schools below and the full briefing is provided for download.

If there is a confirmed case of COVID-19 in your school, then the school should notify the Health Protection Team immediately:

email [email protected] or call 0300 303 0450

Schools should also notify:

Returning to school
The following signs, posters and templates can be used in schools.
N.B. schools do not need to routinely take a child’s temperature unless they are actually ill and so schools may not want to use that sign.

In addition, two Tower Hamlets' schools - Thomas Buxton Primary School and St. Paul's Way Foundation School - have kindly agreed to share the guides they produced for parents with children returning to school. The guides outline plans for a phased return, guidance for parents and carers, what children should wear/bring to school and much more. The schools have also agreed to let other Tower Hamlets' schools adapt this guidance for their own parents and school communities.
