Safeguarding

Child Protection
The Tower Hamlets Education Safeguarding Service has provided an update on Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSiE) 2020.
To assist schools in meeting their requirement to have an up to date Child Protection Policy, a model policy has been provided which schools can edit to meet their individual requirements.
If there is a concern about the welfare of a child or young person, the Tower Hamlets Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH) is able to provide advice. The MASH information leaflet and poster is provided below.
Where there is a specific concern of a child protection nature whereby it is thought that a child has been harmed or at risk of being harmed then the Inter-Agency Referral Form should completed in the first instance.
To assist in managing allegations against staff & volunteers working with children in schools, Tower Hamlets Education Safeguarding Service has provided a flowchart that details the process.

Covid-19
A number of guidance documents have been produced by the Education Safeguarding Service and the Educational Psychology Service to help schools and Designated Safeguarding Leads prepare for the return of pupils in September
There is additional guidance that relates specifically to how best to support the pupils' emotional wellbeing.

Moving On: Year 6 to 7 Transition
In order to assist children who are moving to secondary school in September, a workbook has been produced. The aim of the workbook is to encourage pupils to think and talk about their feelings inorder to help them get ready to start out in a new school.
The Educational Psychology Service has also produced a booklet for parents to help them help their children with the transition.

Prevent
The Tower Hamlets Prevent Education Officer has produced guidance for schools on what Prevent is and how it relates to safeguarding.
